About Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Czechia
Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Czechia (ADH Czechia) is a leading organization of people with hearing impairments that has been representing and supporting deaf and hard of hearing citizens in the Czech Republic for more than 35 years. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people with hearing impairments and to ensure their equal access to education, work and social life.
We offer a wide range of services and projects that include interpreting services, professional counselling, educational courses and cultural events. We are actively involved in legislative changes and awareness campaigns to raise public awareness of the issues facing deaf and hard of hearing people.
We participate in the development of equal rights policies for the hearing impaired both abroad and in the Czech Republic. Together, we are overcoming barriers and creating a world where hearing impairment is not a barrier but part of the diversity of human life.
The independent Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the Czechia was founded on 8 May 1990 as a non-profit civil association, later as a registered society, registered under the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. We operate throughout the Czech Republic and have an active network of organizations, all of which aim to bring together and support people with hearing impairments.

ADH Czechia is a provider of interpreting services through the Centre for Mediation of Interpreting for the Deaf (CZTN), which implements a nationwide interpreting service for the deaf.
Mission of ADH Czechia
ADH Czechia supports the fulfilment of the rights of persons with hearing impairment in the Czech Republic. We provide counselling and preventive services. We support the provision of information and communication accessibility.
